Where the hair magic happens
Micro foil VS chunky foil
Wednesday, May 1, 2019
What is the difference between a micro foil and a chunky foil?
The easiest way for me to explain the difference between the 2 types of foils would be to show you pictures.
The first picture is a micro foil that I did on a client. It is a seamless and natural look. These are before and after photos...it brightened up her hair color beautifully, without looking like she had a color service.
This next picture is a chunky foil performed by someone other than myself. I found the picture through Google just to give you an example.
Natural, seamless foils are popular right now, but I'm sure chunky foils will make a comeback one day!

How to maintain your vivid hair colors / fashion colors...
Here are 6 tips to help you maintain your vivid / fashion hair colors as well as red hair color. By following these tips, your fashion colors will last longer and stay vibrant for a longer period of time:
1. Do not shampoo and condition your hair every day.
2. When washing your hair, use cool water. As cool as you can stand.
3. Use shampoo and conditioner made specifically for Vivid Hair Colors / color treated hair.
4. Avoid shampoos with sulfates.
5. Avoid styling products with alcohol.
6. Avoid chlorinated water and long periods in the sun.

Balayage / Ombre hair color....check out what it is!
I love hair color! I love looking at pictures of it, watching videos of people doing it, applying it to my own hair and most of all, applying it to my clients hair! The right hair color can easily make us feel so much better about the way we look! And we all know when we like the way we look, we feel better in every way.
My husband says I get just as excited as my clients when I transform them with a new color and style! It is definitely true. I. Love. Hair. Color!
Here are a couple of pictures I took of a Balayage / Ombre color I recently did. Balayage and Ombre are color techniques that are applied by taking a different color than the hair and painting it onto the ends and depending on what technique you are using, down the hair shaft, staying clear of within a couple / few inches of the roots.
Check out this before and after...
If you like the curls in the photo's, take a look at this video! See how to achieve them for yourself...
Make those curls stay put (scroll down post for the video).

Welcome to Hairstyles, Hair Color and More!
I have been in the hair industry for many years! I have always enjoyed doing various types of color...from single process to highlights to all the modern shades and colors.
In addition to being a cosmetologist, I also enjoy writing about hair. I have a channel entitled: Raleigh Hair Care. You can take a look at one of the articles I have written: Remedy to help dry hair
In addition to this blog, I have recently started a Facebook fan page: Hairstyles, Hair Color and More
If you are a tweetaholic, you can find me on Twitter too! Cookrunwrite
And of course, for the Pinterest addicts, you can find me there too: Deanna Martinez-Bey: Cookrunwrite
You can expect to see posts here about all things hair and beauty related. For example...check out this neat little hairdo I tried out on myself today:
